Dishwasher

Dishwashing is a great way to get into the restaurant business. This is not like washing dishes at home. We have to follow strict food safety and health guidelines in order to insure that our dishes are clean.

Our dishwashers must be able to get clean dishes to the kitchen and servers quickly throughout the day. Our customers are too busy to wait on a fork. Dishwashers are responsible for unloading the dishes and cutlery brought to them by servers and loading them into dish trays. The trays are then placed into the commercial washer and blasted with scalding hot water. The commercial dishwashing machines can’t accommodate larger pots and pans, so you will be required to wash all of those by hand.

Dishwashers are responsible for making sure all of the dishes are cleaned throughout the day and at the end of the day when we’re closed. You must maintain a clean washing area and the floor of the wash area must be cleaned daily.

Requirements

• 6 months or more of commercial cleaning Experience is a plus: You don’t have to have as much experience. but it is a plus if you do.
• Stamina: It’s necessary for you to be physically capable to stand and walk. You will need to be able to stand on your feet for long periods and lift heavy objects from storage.
• Teamwork: Our dishwashers are part of a team, reporting to the manager. You will need to be able to work as a team to create a great dining experience for our customers as well as an efficient workflow for our kitchen and serving staff.
